Aleppo, Syria, 06/04/2016. A Free Syria Army member is fighting in the heavy battle in the Aleppo’s neighbourhood of Sheikh Maksoud.
The Syrian Democratic Forces and the allied Rebel Army of the Al-Castelo area stormed the only road between Aleppo and its countryside two days ago, in order to encircle the town. However the Free Syrian Army and Ahrar As-Shams repelled the attack in an extremely heavy battle to prevent the siege of Aleppo. In the process the Free Syrian Army and Ahrar as-Shams have moved from a defence to an attack and advancement strategy in the area. They also gained control of a number of blocks and buildings of the youngster accommodations in the neighbourhood of Sheikh Maksoud. A source has told Images Live that 20 members of the PKK were killed and one was captured during the fighting, but Images Live has not been told the number of casualties incurred by the Free Syrian Army and Ahrar as-Shams.
