A large crowd of activists representing cleaners and e-couriers who are demanding to be paid the London Living Wage protested outside clothing retailer Topshop's flagship store on Oxford Street before marching the short distance to the John Lewis department store which they entered en masse and held a short but noisy protest, much to the bemusement of shoppers. The campaigners claim that the Minimum Wage is simply not enough to live on, and all the cleaning staff at both stores have to claim benefits from the state just in order to survive.
